"Praise dance" is a phrase that brings a picture of white flowing garments and smooth fluid movements to mind. This is a good thing, because most people are able to identify with a certain aspect of praise dancing or dancing for God.
One thing to note however, is that our God loves variety!!
In these latter times, praise dance has come to involve tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, salsa, and more!! Dancing for God has taken on a greater meaning even as more people are called in this amazing ministry from all parts of the world. Christian dancers are ministering to the lost in languages they understand! We need to be aware of the various dimensions of 'praise dance' that exist, so we can help people understand that "church" is really a place where dance can take on new meaning.
There are many ways to Jesus but only One Way to God. Dance, like every thing else, cannot get a soul saved; but it can provide a stage for the Spirit of God to move. Dance is every bit as much ministry, as any other 'recognised' form out there.
